What is the Property Protection Plan?
The monthly fee for $1,000 in coverage is $15 per month. The property protection plan may vary based on the plan you choose. Currently, STOW IT only offers 1 plan for most of our facilities that offer the Property Protection Plan.
This coverage varies based on the type of damage incurred at the facility. For example, the plan covers you for $1,000 for accidents to help pay your out-of-pocket deductible. The plan also covers one-time up to $500 for contents that may have been stolen during a theft and up to 50% of the replacement for permanently attached parts, not to exceed $350 of the deductible reimbursement.
Are all Spaces Covered by the Property Protection Plan?
Not all spaces and listings are covered by the Property Protection Plan. STOW IT at its sole discretion chooses the spaces with the Property Protection Plan option. If the space does not have the option presented during the booking process, then the plan is not offered at that location.
How does the Claim Process work?
The claims process is done through Tenant Property Protection® at tppclaims.com. STOW IT will also help you through this process. In certain cases, Tenant Property Protection® may require additional information such as proof of payment, photos, and a police report.
Claims need to be filed within 72 hours of discovering the theft or damage to the vehicle. Email STOW IT at support@stowit.com to start your claim.
Is this insurance?
No, the Property Protection Plan is not insurance. The plan is designed to help cover damages in the case of an accident or theft but is not a comprehensive or vehicle insurance plan.
Is the Property Protection Plan Optional?
Yes, you may opt out of the Property Protection Plan upon checking out and requesting the storage space. Opting out of the plan means that you will not have any coverage through STOW IT or Tenant Property Protection® in the case of a theft or accident.
