What are the late fees?
We will reach out to you when a payment fails to rectify the situation. If we are unable to resolve the issue promptly, our late policy is:
- Payments that are 7 days late will be assessed a $15 fee
- Payments that are 15 days late will be assessed an additional $20 fee
- Payments that are 30 days late will be assessed the above fees and the eviction and lien process will be initiated with the renter being liable for all applicable fees in the process.
In rare situations, we will give you a 30-day eviction notice. If you fail to pay and remove your property from the premises, STOW IT or a third party may repossess your items. At that time your property becomes the property of STOW IT or the third-party agency.
STOW IT may continue to try to charge tenants late fees and rent payments for up to six months after the tenant defaults on payments.
